Description of products

• Patch Cords: KSM provides a full range of fibre optic patch cords LC, SC, ST, MTRJ, ESCON, MU, FC, MPO in any combination of connector type in multi mode (62.5/125 OM1 and 50/125 OM2 or OM3) and single mode (9/125 OS1). All our multimode patch cords use Corning glass which allows us to provide up to 10 Gigabit performance over 500 metres. Suitable for SAN Networks , FICON Fibre Channel applications, Gigabit Ethernet, data centres and many other high performance standards. Ask how to future proof your network today.
  
• Active Devices: Check out our range of 100Mbps and Gigabit range of products. LC, SC, ST, MTRJ transceivers, switches, hubs and converters. Whether you want to extend your campus or office LAN, run a fibre backbone, convert from copper CAT5E to fibre, multi mode to single mode, or simply improve the performance of your network. We probably have a solution to help you. Our products can be standalone or modular or 19” rack unit mounted. Other applications have included CCTV, and Voice over Ethernet.
  
• Pre Terminated Trunks: Drive in and plug in a network. A wide range of pre terminated multi core trunks ranging from 4 to 144 core cables for use in campus networks, data centres and telecommunication applications. LC, SC, ST, MTRJ, ESCON, MU, FC, MPO in any combination of connector type in multimode (50/125 and 62.5/125) and single mode (9/125) are available with pulling pod for ease of installation. Ask about our Patch Trunks which can be re-used and reconfigured to meet any customer configuration.
  
• Voice over the Internet : VoIP : Get a handle on this exciting new technology that enables individuals or companies to make phone calls for free over the internet or simply call out via the PSTN at reduced rates. • Attenuation: Need to power down the transmission: LC, SC, ST, MTRJ, KSM's plug in attenuators or attenuated patch cords provide a fixed step attenuation to eliminate the problem of wash out by the receiver port. Available in increments of 1db from -1 to -30db, always handy to have some of these in the tool box.
  
• Mode Conditioning: Trying to transmit gigabit data across OM1 62.5/126 fibre. Differential Mode Delay can be overcome by mode conditioning using KSM Mode Conditioning patch cords: (LC, SC, ST, MTRJ configurations. These cables allow VCSEL (Laser) technology to be used with existing multimode fibre installations, significantly reducing bit error rates and extending the distance that gigabit data rates can be transmitted.
